Hi Gin,

I hear about it from my clients all the time: overwhelm. The orientation in our culture that prizes doing, constant accomplishment - and forgets the wisdom of being. Yet the body is always speaking. It whispers through sensations, breath, and emotion long before it cries out in pain or exhaustion.

Somatic awareness is about remembering that language. It’s learning to pause and listen; not to fix, but to feel. When we slow down enough to notice what’s here, the body begins to trust us again. When we identify sensations, making our awareness explicit, the body doesn’t have to speak so loudly.

This is where healing begins: not through effort, but through presence.

Try this today:

Take five quiet minutes. Close your eyes. Notice what sensations are present…warmth, tingling, heaviness, shakiness. Without judgment, simply listen. What might your body be asking for?
