There are decisions we can make with more information:

Run the numbers. Research the options. Make the list. Call the expert.

And then there are decisions where more information doesn't necessarily produce more clarity.

Should I keep building this?

Is this opportunity actually mine?

What is ambition asking of me—and what is God asking of me?

What does my family need from me in this season?

Is this boundary wise or am I simply afraid?

Am I staying because I'm called to stay, or because leaving feels uncomfortable?

Those questions require something different.

Discernment often needs quiet. Prayer. Honesty. Time.

And I think it also needs wise people.

People who aren't invested in a particular answer. People who aren't impressed by our performance. People willing to ask the question underneath the question.

Maybe that's why so many important conversations throughout our lives happen around tables.

Who helps you hear yourself - and God - more clearly when the answer isn't obvious?

Around the Table

This week I've been thinking less about what should happen at these gatherings and more about who should be around the table.

That feels important.

Community doesn't become meaningful simply because people occupy the same room.

Trust matters. Curiosity matters. Generosity matters. The willingness to be honest matters.

I'm thinking carefully about the kind of women who could challenge one another without competing, hold different experiences without immediately trying to fix them, and bring both wisdom and questions into the room.

Community over content.

That conviction is becoming stronger the further I get into creating this.
